Frugality Tip #3: Freecycle it

Ready for another frugality tip?

I'm about to share with you one of the best kept "penny-pinching" secrets (in my opinion) on the internet.

Here it is:

It's a non-profit site for people to give (or get) things for free where they live. It's similar to Craigslist in that you can post things you want to get rid of, or make requests for things you are trying to find. The major difference is that everything posted on Freecycle is FREE! Hence the name... The site's goal is to get more use out of the things we already have and keep them from getting dumped into landfills.

For example, in my area someone is currently trying to give away an HP Photosmart Printer. Another person wants to give away a gently used counter top . Sounds great, right? That's because it IS!

Other people are making requests for things like cribs, or used bicycles.

As I said... it's quite similar to Craigslist, but it's ALL FREE! You can give and get and feel good about it.
